While everyone remember the names of sluggers Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays and Hank Aaron, another of the late 1950s sluggers who terrorized pitching was Rocky Colavito, and he averaged 41 home runs from the years 1958-1961. This 34.5 inch, 32.7 ounce pro stock Louisville Slugger K55 model bat has his name “Rocky Colavito” scripted across the barrel, an extensive handle crack, with the model number “K55” stamped on the knob. The bat also contains severe deadwood (grain swelling) on the back barrel from repeated ball contact. Several ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible all over the barrel. PSA/DNA does state “the bat is authentic and manufactured during the referenced labeling period, but “use by Colavito cannot be confirmed.” Tremendous overall use. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, cert number 1B07793.
