With 17 years of managerial experience under his belt, including directing the New York Mets to a World Series title in 1986, Davey Johnson has been able to build quite a résumé for himself in Major League Baseball. Johnson, owner of a 1,372-1,071 career record in the Big Leagues, wore this blue Los Angeles Dodgers button-down alternate jersey while managing the franchise during the 2000 season. Johnson signed his number “5” on the reverse side of the jersey in bold, black sharpie along with the inscriptions “2000” and “Game Used.” “Dodgers” appears scripted across the chest in white on blue tackle twill with his number “5” below in red on white and grey tackle twill. “JOHNSON” is displayed across the top back of the jersey in white tackle twill above his aforementioned number “5,” which is white on blue and grey tackle twill. The left sleeve of the jersey boasts an intertwined “LA” logo patch in white on blue and grey tackle twill. The inside front left tail of the jersey is home to a “Rawlings Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s label with three accompanying tags that read “2 INCH SHORTER LENGTH,” size “46” and “SET 1 2000.” The jersey shows light evidence of game use and comes with a PSA/DNA COA, number X90293.”
