Winning just 82 games the 1973 New York Mets were a most improbable National League champion. Mets were the only team to finish above .500 in the NL East in 1973, clinching the division on the last day of the season. Behind the bat of Felix Millan (the team's best batter at .290) the Mets rallied behind the cry of “Ya Gotta Believe” and surprised Cincinnati’s “Big Red Machine,” for the National League pennant and nearly toppled the heavily favored Oakland A’s in the World Series. These 14 balls each collect together the signatures of 13 men who were a part of that improbable 1973 team: Jerry Koosman, Ed Kranepool, Cleon Jones, Jerry Grote, Duffy Dyer, Ken Boswell, George Stone, Don Hahn, Jim McAndrew, Felix Millan, Wayne Garrett, Joe Pignatano and George Theodore. Each Official Selig Major League Baseball is in clean, bone white condition. The signatures are mostly in crisp blue ball point with some being in green and blue, adding visual variety to the group. The lot of 14 comes with a Pre-Certificate of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
