Before he reverted to his real first name Giancarlo, Mike Stanton hit the farthest home run shots in the National League. In 2011, the year this bat was used by him, Stanton hit 34 home runs to drive in 87 runs. As would be expected, his un-cracked Louisville Slugger P147 shows outstanding with tons of ball marks with stitch impressions covering the barrel. Ball marks include blue ink transfers and cleat imprints are visible along with green bat rack paint streaks. As proof of Stanton’s fiery approach to the game, there is a deep depression in the bat’s left barrel, most likely from one of his rare strike outs. The bat’s date of manufacture “7/08/11”, length “33.5” and weight “33.0” are stamped into the knob end. Giancarlo’s number “27” is written on the knob end in black marker. PSA/DNA have examined this bat (1B09022) and awarded it their highest grade of GU 10.
