His love for the game of baseball forever associated Ernie Banks with his noted phrase, “Let’s play two!” The Hall of Famer’s recent passing saddened a generation of fans who grew up enjoying the talent and passion of the man known as “Mr. Cub.” This pinback is from the era of his start in MLB, previously having played in the Negro Leagues. The pin measures 2.5” in diameter and depicts a black and white image of a very youthful player, with his name – “ERNEST BANKS” – written below. The metallic backing shows some expected rust, but the pinback overall is in excellent condition.
