Manufactured by Balfour, this 10K-gold, size 13 ring was officially approved by the Clemente family and features 21 full-cut diamonds (65 total points) forming the immortal number "21" atop an onyx stone. Raised lettering on the borders reads, "Roberto Clemente / 1955 / 1972." A similar style has been employed on the shanks, as one side displays "3000 HITS / BATTING TITLES / 1961 / 1964 / 1965 / 1967 / .317 B.A" in raised lettering, while the other exhibits, "ROBERTO CLEMENTE / 1966 MVP / 12 GOLD GLOVES." The inner band is engraved, "022/200." Near Mint condition. Includes the Balfour presentation box and a pair of 2001 purchase LOAs, one of which reads, "The accompanying ring with this letter is ring number 22 of 200 numbered rings manufactured with the authority of the Clemente family. We hereby guarantee that this is the only ring manufactured with this number." According to our consignor, of the 200 rings that were scheduled to be released in the limited edition, only 50 numbers were ever actually issued and sold within the time frame that they were offered.
