For 14 years “Donnie Baseball” was the face of the New York Yankees franchise. The 6-time All-Star was the AL’s Most Valuable player in 1985 and his career bridged the gap between the late 70’s-early 80’s teams of Billy Martin and the beginning of the Joe Torre era. 583 of Mattingly’s 2,153 hits came during the period this bat was used, 1992-1995. The Worth WC129 bat shows outstanding use with a cracked handle. The upper handle is coated in pine tar, a characteristic found on most Mattingly sticks from this period. Mattingly has signed the barrel in black marker between the center brand and player endorsement. Letter of Authenticity 1B09566 from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a GU 9.5.
