No player in modern times possessed the amount sheer natural talent that Ken Griffey, Jr. possessed. Over his 22-year career Griff hit 630 home runs putting him at number 6 on the all-time list (and much higher if you shave off the steroid users). In his prime with Seattle in 1992, Griffey combined with teammates Harold Reynolds and Kevin Mitchell to form the “Cash Money Brothers”, a home run hitting juggernaut named after a gang in the movie “New Jack City”. The trio hit 39 home runs and 390 hits. As spirit de corps, all three men had their bats engraved with the initials “C.M.B. followed by their number – this one marked with number “24” was Griffey’s. Griff's Louisville Slugger C271 shows outstanding use. There is a handle crack and an approximately 4 1/2" of wood is missing. "C.M.B.-24" is stamped into the bat's barrel. There also appears to be an outline of a criss-cross tape pattern where tape may have once resided on the bat. An interesting and quite scarce type of bat from the beginning of Griffey’s Hall of Fame career. Letter of Authenticity 1B09515 from PSA/DNA.
