Love him or hate him, Alex Rodriguez has made an indelible impact on Major League Baseball in this era. This game-worn New Era cap comes from a far less controversial time, his 1997 season with the Seattle Mariners. Back then, A-Rod was just an emerging star, having appeared in two All Star games while having placed second in AL MVP balloting, all in just two full seasons of regular action. The wool size 7 ¼ lid is navy blue with the embroidered Mariners’ “S” logo on the crown and MLB logo embroidered on the back. The silver autograph on the crown that includes the words “1997 gamer” is somewhat faded but still clearly legible. The hat bears his uniform number “3” written in black marker under the brim, and shows nice use including staining on the brim and underside of the bill.
