Although 2012 was his 18th season in the Majors, Derek Jeter played like it was 1999 again. The Captain batted over .400 for the first half of the season and passed Mickey Mantle for most All-Star hits as A Yankee when he recorded his 11th base hit in the mid-summer classic. He finished out 2012 by leading both leagues in hits (216) and passed Willie Mays to advance to number 10 on the career base hits leaders list. This signed, game-used 34-inch Louisville Slugger P72 bat comes from a 2012 season that saw Jeter post an MLB-high 216 hits. The Louisville Slugger P72 shows excellent use and is un-cracked. There are several ball marks with stich impressions seen on the bat’s barrel along with the impression from a weighted batting donut. There s a light coat of pine tar on the handle and the date of manufacture “1/27/2011”, length “34.0” and weight “32.0” are stamped into the knob. The future Hall of Famer has signed the bat’s barrel in silver pen making this a complete Derek Jeter Gamer. Letter of Authenticity 1B07852 from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a GU 8.
