Yankees general manager Brian Cashman spoke to the impact future Hall of Fame shortstop Derek Jeter on the franchise in March when he stated that there may never be another captain for New York again. Jeter, sixth on Major League Baseball’s all-time hits list with 3,465, wore this signed jersey during a 2005 season that saw him hit .309 with 70 RBI. Jeter signed the front of the white button-down jersey in bold, blue sharpie below the stitched navy blue tackle twill “NY” logo on the left chest of the piece. Jeter’s number “2” appears on the reverse side of the jersey in navy blue tackle twill. The front tail of the jersey features a “Majestic Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s label, with stitched “2005” and size “48” tags below. The jersey shows light use and comes with a COA and LOA from Steiner Sports.
