“The Big Unit” was a 2015 first-ballot Hall of Fame induction choice for good reason. The dominant left-hander, second on Major League Baseball’s all-time strikeout list with 4,875, was a five-time Cy Young award winner who won a World Series championship in 2001 en route to being named MVP. Randy Johnson wore this signed pair of Nike cleats during his first season with the Yankees in 2005, when he went 17-8 with a 3.79 ERA and 211 strikeouts. The black cleats feature Johnson’s signature on the outside toe region of both shoes in bold, silver sharpie. Several inscriptions accompany both signatures: “5x Cy,” “Game Used,” Big Unit” and “303-4875” all in bold, silver sharpie. Johnson’s number “41” is stitched on both the tongue and heel of each cleat. No manufacturer tags are present inside the cleats, which show heavy signs of game use, highlighted by an eroded left toe from where Johnson dragged his foot while pitching. The signed, game used cleats come with an LOA signed by Johnson, a Mears LOA and are PSA/DNA pre-certified authentic.
