When the New York Yankees completed the 1928 season with 101 wins and their third World Series title, few could know the dominance that was about to occur. History has recorded that however, this Official American League (Bernard) ball boasts 28 signatures; including an amazing nine of men who eventually ascended to Cooperstown. That list includes Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Herb Pennock, Stan Coveleski, Tony Lazzeri, Earle Combs, Miller Huggins, and Leo Durocher. While the ball – in its interesting alternating blue-and-red stitching – shows the ravages of time, the fountain pen signatures remain fairly legible. A tremendous memento of the early days of baseball’s marquee franchise. Comes with JSA LOA.
