Pete Rose became the Hit King on September 11, 1985 when he smacked his 4,192nd hit. Bats (such as this one offered here) produced by Mizuno in 1985 before he reached that magic number had “4192” stamped on the barrel as encouragement for Rose. For the balance of the season, Rose had Mizuno produce his bats with added “A.T.H.L.” (All-Time Hit King) on the barrel. The Mizuno 4192 shows outstanding use – it’s awesome to think that a few of Rose’s record shattering hits might have come off this bat! Pete’s number “14” is found on both ends of the bat. The distinctly taped handle and sanded barrel are the familiar hallmarks of a Pete Rose gamer. Best of all, the Hit King has signed the barrel above the player endorsement. Letter of Authenticity 1B09581 from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a GU 9.5.
