When RKO began to film "Pride of the Yankees" about the life of Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth and a bunch of his pals from the Yankees were on hand as advisors and extras. This great candid period 8x10 captures The Babe along with former teammates Bill Dickey and Joe Gordon along with actor Vernon Rickard who was playing a catcher in the film. The setting is Wrigley Field in Los Angeles which stood in for many of the ballpark scenes. The Babe has signed the photo in nice blue fountain pen (9/10): "To My Pal Vernon From Babe Ruth". The photograph shows light wear along the edges from age and exhibits beautifully. A great piece of both movie and baseball history. Letter of Authenticity T07029 from PSA/DNA.
