No sports arena, ballpark, stadium or coliseum the world over can claim to have been host as many exciting moments as New York's Yankee Stadium. The cathedral of baseball was as impressive on the day it opened in 1923 (causing The Babe to remark "some ball yard…") as it was on the day the last fan left the gate. In between, The Stadium played host to 33 World Series' and 4 All-Star Games. This spectacular display collects close to 50 individuals who made that ball park in the Bronx the greatest sports venue in the world. The first part of the display is a 1923-2008 Yankee Stadium Commemorative poster measuring 20" x 24" and signed by a galaxy of players whose careers were made between the foul poles of the old park: Johnny Blanchard, Chris Chambliss, David Cone, Bobby Murcer, Graig Nettles, Mike Stanton, Paul O'Neill, Derek Jeter, Mel Stottlemyre, Rich Gossage, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte, Don Mattingly, Bucky Dent, Yogi Berra, Ryne Duren, Whitey Ford, Roy White, Ed Figueroa, Bob Turley, Oscar Gamble, Shane Spencer, Ramiro Mendoza, Luis Sojo, Jeff Nelson, Don Larsen, Joe Girardi, Chad Curtis, Wilson Betemit, Scott Brosius, Don Zimmer, Jose Vizcaino, Ralpy Terry, Darryl Rasner, Mike Mussina, Johnny Damon, Bobby Richardson, Jason Giambi, and Dave Righetti. In addition six autograph cuts have been added to this already impressive display: Roger Maris (PSA/DNA Authentic), Casey Stengel (PSA/DNA Authentic), Joe DiMaggio (PSA/DNA Authentic), Herb Pennock (with a piece of Frank Crosetti) (PSA/DNA Authentic) and Ed Lopat, Allie Reynolds, Gene Woodling and Spud Chandler (PSA/DNA Authentic). The Mickey Mantle cut signature is a unique example in it is signed "Mick Mantle". A stunningly impressive display, bringing together more than 50 men who made Yankee Stadium the greatest ballpark in the world.
