This official program from the 1942 World Series played between the New York Yankees and the St. Louis Cardinals features player bio’s from both teams. The Yankees started out strong in game one only to be swept in the next four games which saw the St. Louis Cardinals defeat the New York Yankees, winning the World Series 4 games to 1. The series loss was the Yankees’ first since the 1926 World Series, interestingly also to the Cardinals. Listed inside the program are notable players and MLB Hall of Famers, Joe DiMaggio, Phil Rizzuto, and Stan Musial. The front cover features a young baseball fan with his dog buying war bonds and/or stamps from a young service woman. The middle of the program has a loose page and the box score inside is partially filled out.
