2014 marked the final season for the Yankees Derek Jeter. For 20 Hall of Fame summers The Captain not only led the Yankees with his bat and flawless fielding but also with his leadership qualities. When Jeter exited the field for the last time he left behind a stack of franchise records - quite an accomplishment since the Yankees could boast such Hall of Famers as Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle and DiMaggio. Among his records are most career hits as a Yankee, most doubles in the history of the club, most stolen bases, most at bats - the list goes on and on. This first base was used in the fifth inning of the September 21, 2014 game against Toronto. Jeter smacked career hit 3,458 and took this base. The base has moderate game use with a nice amount of infield turf clinging to the surface. The sides of the base have the special Derek Jeter plaques used during his final season. Bottom surface has the date and inning of the game notated in marker. The Captain has signed the top of the base in bold black marker making this a true Jeter game used base! Letter of Authenticity from Yankees-Steiner, also MLB (HZ556202).
