“Next Year” finally came for Dem Bums in 1955. Here, in Game 5, Jackie Robinson delivers a clutch RBI single to left as Yogi Berra awaits the throw to home. Ebbets Field is filled to the rafters, with World Series flag bunting festooned to the grandstand facades, and with the classic outfield ads for Schaefer Beer, Gem Razors and Abe Stark’s “Hit Sign, Win Suit” promotion. Home of the Dodgers, Robins and Superbas for 44 years, Ebbets was demolished in 1960 and would be celebrating its 102nd birthday this season.

Bio: Perhaps best known for his “Phinally!” litho of the Phillies’ 2008 championship celebration (available on MLB’s website), Mike Kuyper specializes in sweeping stadium scenes. He takes great pride in meticulously depicting every minute detail of architecture, signage, cityscapes and game action. Kuyper received his formal training in Fine Art and Illustration from Philadelphia’s Hussian School of Art.
