Created to honor the 2012 Fenway centennial, 2013 Boston Marathon tragedy and 2013 Red Sox championship, Duffy’s intricate stadium scene was never released as a print because of licensing issues with the “Boston Strong” logo slogan. Thus, this one-of-a-kind original work has not seen the light of day until now, and will not be made available for reproduction. Appearing on an oversized piece of artboard and signed by Duffy, it is constructed exclusively of the data for every single game from the 2013 season. The text begins with “4/1/13 AT NYY W 8-2” and ends with “BOSTON RED SOX WIN 2013 WORLD SERIES 4-2.”

Bio: Rarely do sports artists emerge who blaze a new trail and reinvent what’s possible, yet Daniel Duffy has been doing just that for over five years with his extraordinary Word Art creations. The Philadelphia-based innovator uses text, numbers, dates, game logs and statistics for his original pen-and-ink portraits of athletes and historical figures. Duffy has sold more than 10,000 prints at public appearances, at the Phillies’ Citizens Bank Park, through Major League Baseball, and on his website. Duffy’s Bryce Harper artwork was featured in a Gatorade commercial. He also was the honored guest for a multi-day live art performance at the TED2014 conference in Vancouver where his subjects included Bill Gates.
