Ford Frick, the National League’s President and Commissioner of Major League Baseball from 1934-1951, typed and signed this letter dated July 7, 1948 on official National League letterhead paper, to legendary Dodger, Pee Wee Reese. The letter informs Pee Wee Reese of his selection to the National League All-Star team, complimentary tickets for him from the league, how he should make travel and hotel arrangements, along with the fact he should bring his away uniform, as the visiting team. Hall of Fame short stop Pee Wee Reese, was considered the heart and soul of the Brooklyn Dodgers, playing all of his 18 years in a Dodger uniform. He was the Captain and club leader of the Dodger teams from 1940-1958, winning 7 National League titles and one World Series Championship. He was elected 10 times an All-Star and played a pivotal role in supporting Jackie Robinson’s acceptance, first on the team and then for all of America. Originating from The Reese Estate.
