This original invitation, honoring President John F. Kennedy and Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson, was sent out welcoming the pair to the Texas Welcome Dinner event being held in Austin, Texas. Neither men made it to the dinner that tragic night as earlier that day President Kennedy was assassinated while driving in his motorcade. Kennedy was fatally shot by sniper Lee Harvey Oswald as the President sat in the back of his Lincoln convertible, while being driven through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. The invitation is dated, Friday the 22nd of November and it measures 7” x 9.5” and has mild creasing along its center. Item comes with a COA from Nate D. Saunders Auctions.
