Hall of Famer Stan Musial, known as “Stan the Man,” played for the St. Louis Cardinals whom he spent his entire career with. He spent the 1945 season out of baseball while serving with the United States Navy during World War II and was assigned to Special Services in Hawaii. Considered to be one of the greatest hitters in baseball history, and the most consistent hitter of his era, Musial is part of the 3,000 hit club. He was a 24 time MLB All-Star, who won three World Series Championships and was a three time NL MVP. He is the St. Louis Cardinals franchise career leader in virtually every batting category and as his nickname implies he was an extraordinary ballplayer and an even better man. Born in Donora, Pennsylvania Musial learned the sport playing as a young man with his brother and childhood friends, eventually making his high school team - ultimately signing with the St. Louis Cardinals. In February 2011, Musial was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom; one of the highest civilian awards from President Barack Obama who said, “Stan remains, to this day, an icon, untarnished; a beloved pillar of the community; a gentlemen you’d want your kids to emulate.” This home jersey is singed in black ink on the back on his number. The signature is PSA/DNA Authenticated M77735.
