Hall of Fame, Baltimore Orioles shortstop/third baseman Cal Ripken Jr. broke New York Yankee legend Lou Gehrig’s long standing record that most thought would never be broken, for the most consecutive games played. Ripken improved on Gehrig’s record of 2,131 consecutive games played and played in a MLB record 2,632 consecutive games. Ripken was also a two time AL MVP and a World Series champion. This Louisville Slugger 125 Genuine P72 bat is signed by Cal Ripken Jr. in gold marker on the barrel along with the inscription, “1982 AL ROY.” Also, included in this lot is a Cal Ripken Jr. signed Baltimore Orioles jersey. This Majestic Athletic size 48, MLB Authentic collection jersey has an AL 100 Season patch sewn on the right sleeve as well as an American flag patch sewn on the center of the back collar. Cal Ripken Jr.’s signature is signed in blue sharpie marker on the chest of this jersey opposite his number “8” patch. Cal Ripken Jr.’s signature on this jersey has been authenticated by MLB (MT00192307) and his signed bat comes with an #8 Cal Ripken Jr. hologram authentication sticker affixed to the bat. This entire lot is PSA/DNA Pre-Certified.
