Puckett used this bat during the May 26th, 1990 game against the visiting Red Sox. The Twins edged out Boston 6-5 on a 6th inning homer by Puckett. We don’t know for sure that Puckett used this bat for the homer but it was used and broke during the game. After the Twins victory this bat was gifted to a wheel chair-bound fan seated behind the Twins dugout giving this bat solid provenance. This Hall of Fame worthy stick is accompanied by the Twins’ dugout lineup card which was given to the fan along with the bat. Puckett’s Louisville Slugger C243 model bat displays heavy use and has been cracked with a missing piece from its handle. As befits a bat from the hand of Kirby Puckett, the barrel shows many ball marks with stitch impressions. Bat rack paint streaks and pine tar can be seen. Letter of Authenticity from MEARS who have thoroughly examined this bat and graded it an A8.
