After a disappointing playoff against Astro, the Phillies third baseman exploded in the World Series. Time and again Schmidt's bat came through when the team needed it most as exemplified in Game 3 when his home run evened up what looked to be a Royals victory. Schmidt's seven RBIs amounted to a quarter of the Phillies runs and he beat up the Kansas City pitching to a tune of .381. His two RBI single in Game 6 put his team ahead securing the Phillies their first world Championship. This Rawlings Official 1980 World Series ball shows great game use with turf and age toning giving it a warm "been there" look to it. Schmidt has signed the side panel below the 1980 World Series logo in black felt tip pen, proudly adding "MVP 1980". A great piece of one of the most exciting World Series of all-time. Letter of Authenticity from MEARS and PSA/DNA B79027.
