This is unique little cigarette case pays tribute to The Babe and dates from the beginning of his most famous season. The 3 1/8" x 4 1/2" the clam shell case sports a highly detailed relief bust of Ruth with his Yankees cap and pinstripes. The stylish art deco cover has "NEW YORK MAY 1927" engraved beside the Bambino's bust. The inside is marked "F&M Extra Quality Silver Plate" and has the modern styled arm that holds the cigarettes in place. The spring locking catch still works perfectly. Overall there is the expected tarnishing from age and there is some paint chipped from the Babe Ruth bust on the cover, none of which affects the visual impact of this contemporary tribute to baseball's best slugger.
