1955 looked like business as usual as the Yankees cruised to their 6th pennant in 7 years. Meeting their usual foe in the World Series, the Brooklyn Dodgers, the Yanks came within one game of winning another World Championship. Regardless, the Yankees 1955 squad fielded no less than 4 future Hall of Famers. Mickey Mantle led the AL in home runs, triples and slugging percentage and Whitey Ford led in most wins and complete games. This lightly tones Harridge Spalding Official American League ball collects 25 of those pennant winning Yanks. As befits their veteran status, Yogi Berra and Phil Rizzuto share the sweet spot. Fellow Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford are present along with Hank Bauer, Tommy Byrne, Andy Carey, Tom Carroll, Bob Cerv, Jerry Coleman, Joe Collins, Whitey Ford, Bob Grim, Elston Howard, Johnny Kucks, Don Larsen, Mickey Mantle ("9"), Gil McDougald, Tom Morgan, Irv Noren, Eddie Robinson, Charlie Silvera, Bill Skowron, Tom Sturdivant and Bob Turley. The signatures of Rip Coleman and Bob Wiesler make this a definitive 1955 team ball. All the signatures rate a 8 or 9/10 with the Hall of Famers being on the higher end. There is a small blemish that affects the "J" in Joe Collins' signature but that's the only flaw on this great signed ball. Letter of Authenticity from JSA.
