In 1997 Ken Griffey Jr. hit 56 Home Runs , had 147 RBI's and a Batting Average of .304. He was the unanimous choice for the AL Most Valuable Player Award. This classic black Louisville Slugger dates from that year. Just as you'd expect from the most naturally gifted ballplayers since Mickey Mantle, Griff's Louisville Slugger C271 model bat shows outstanding use. The handle has been cracked and repaired while the barrel exhibits many ball and stitch impressions with blue ink transfers. Cleat marks are visible and the lower handle has been taped in a criss-cross pattern to enhance the grip. A light coat of pine tar has been applied to the handle and tape. To top off an already outstanding Griffey gamer, the barrel has been signed by the recently inducted Hall of Famer in silver pen adding his number "24". Letter of Authenticity (1B06986) from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a GU 10 and a full LOA from JSA (Y81944). This bat represents a very select group of Griffey Jr. gamers that have received a grade of 10.
