Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Hall of Famer. Among more than 4,100 copies recorded in PSA’s census reporting, just twenty-six examples have been placed at a higher, unqualified tier. The 1956 season was a stellar year for Aaron as he led the League in batting average for the first time. He also clubbed 26 home runs, and thus began his assault on baseball's all-time home run record.
The 1956 Topps card of the future Home Run King is extremely popular with modern collectors. Its horizontal design, which carries both portrait and action shots of the featured player, hails from the last of Topps' "large format" card productions. Aaron's image is wonderfully clear and the borders are bright white on the offered card. All four corners are properly shaped and the white-cardstock back is free of faults. Near Mint to Mint condition.
