Offered here is a limited edition Louisville Slugger baseball bat signed by the 2004 Boston Red Sox team. The 04 Sox, affectionately known to Bostonians as “The Idiots”, won the Red Sox first World Series since 1918. This 86 year drought was only ended because of a heroic comeback in the 2004 ALCS, where the Red Sox overcame a zero game to three deficit to the hated New York Yankees. The World Series, against the St. Louis Cardinals, was an anti-climactic affair. The Red Sox swept their way to the Commissioners Trophy, defeating the Cardinals in four games.

      This bat is signed by 21 members of the 04 Red Sox, including Jason Varitek, Manny Ramirez, Johnny Damon, Pedro Martinez, Curt Schilling, Trot Nixon, Tim Wakefield, Bronson Arroyo, Derek Lowe, and others. All of the signatures are on the barrel of the bat signed in blue Sharpie pen. The bat is engraved with “2004 World Series Champs Boston Red Sox” and “Limited 92 of 104”. In addition, the number 3 is carved in the knob of the back. This item comes with MLB Authentication (MT00538133). Please note that the MLB hologram lists David Ortiz as one of the signatures during a separate signing event. However, Ortiz's signature is not on the bat.
