Presented here is a Bulova wristwatch originally presented to Hall of Fame manager and former MLB player Casey Stengel. As the manager of the Yankees, Stengel won seven World Series and the American League pennant in all but two of his 12 seasons in pinstripes. Later in his career, Stengel became the first manager of the New York Mets, and the only man to have his number retired by both New York clubs. This watch features a rectangular, gold filled face that is engraved with an intricate pattern. The strap is brown leather with a gold clasp. “Presented to Casey Stengel by the Heesen Co. Jewelers” is engraved on the verso of the watch face. This gorgeous watch is a fascinating piece of baseball history, and would instantly complement any serious baseball collection. This item comes with a letter of provenance from Sandy Westrup, who was the daughter of Casey Stengel’s caretaker in the final years of his life and was left many of his possessions following his passing in 1975.
