Catcher Thurman Munson was the sixth New York Yankees Captain in team history who died suddenly in a plane crash on August 2, 1979, at the age of 32. Munson helped the Bronx Bombers win World Series titles in 1977 and ’78. Munson signed in black fiber-tip marker a black-and-white 5x7 headshot that’s part of this overall collage that includes a second black-and-white 8x10 action photo of Munson on the field of play. The overall matted and framed item measures 16” high by 20” wide and comes with LOA from JSA (label # X87136).
