JULY 19TH AUCTION
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 7/20/2013
In the 1990’s no ballplayer was more exciting to watch than Ken Griffey, Jr. The son of baseball royalty, “Junior” brought an unmatched joy and talent to the game that is seen only once in a generation. Entering professional ball at just 17, he was called “The Natural” and by 19 he was a Major League star. This game-ready Louisville Slugger dates from the 1988 season which the 18 year-old Griffey split between the San Bernardino Spirit and the Vermont Mariners. The striking Hickory finished bat shows only general scuffing and is uncracked. Junior’s number “24” has been hand written in black marker on the knob end. A great piece that marks the precipice before Griffey embarked on his Hall of Fame-bound career. PSA/DNA sticker number 1B05333 has been affixed to the handle. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
