The infamous 1961-63 series of white base bobbing head dolls was one of the first Major League Baseball bobblehead sets sold to the public. The bobbleheads produced consisted primarily of bobbing head mascots, but a few star players were immortalized in bobblehead form: Roberto Clemente, Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, and Willie Mays. This Roberto Clemente bobble, with original box, is one of the most sought-after bobbles from the set. The roughly 8-inch-tall bobble depicts Clemente with his hands on his hips in a white Pirates jersey and black Pirates cap. Original 1962 Clemente bobbleheads don’t surface often, let alone with their original boxes and in such good condition, which makes this piece a true treasure.
