Catalogued R303-B in the American Card Catalog, this large format (4 3/4" x 7 3/8") set is printed on thinner stock and was issued both in black & white, as well as sepia toned cards. Offered is the complete 24-card set, all PSA Graded, with each card being the black & white variety. It is very difficult to find large format cards in this pristine condition. This premium set is one of the more overlooked card issues from the 1930s, as the large cards made for difficulty in finding high graded examples and the lack of team insignias. However, the images are beautiful and more than half the subjects issued have a residence in Cooperstown. There have only been 434 graded examples of this issue at writing, and all our examples graded PSA 7 or higher are the highest graded examples available, except for Vaughan and Greenberg which each has a single example one grade higher. This is an “instructional” set as the backs feature playing tips geared to eager young players. Includes: PSA MINT 9 – (5 cards) w/ Feller, Foxx, Gomez, Lombardi and Simmons; PSA NM-MT+ 8.5 – (2 cards) w/ Chapman and Cronin; PSA NM-MT 8 (8 cards) – Case, Goodman, Gordon, Herman, Higgins, Mancuso, Vaughan and York; PSA NM 7 (1 Card) – DiMaggio; PSA EX-MT+ 6.5 – (1 card), Greenberg; PSA EX-MT 6 – (7 cards) w/ Appling, Dickey, Heath, Keltner, Kreevich, Ott and Vosmik. PSA high grade complete set of 24.
