One-year removed from their 1933 World Series championship, this cream-colored, vintage International League ball features 24 signatures including four Hall of Famers, plus a very bold signature of Adolfo Luque, one of the first Cuban born baseball players! Luque also pitched for the Cincinnati Reds in the 1919 Black Sox World Series! The bold signatures grade ("7-9") with a few lesser, with most key signatures grading at the top end of the range. Includes: W.H. (Bill) Terry, Hal Schumacher on sweet spot, Mel Ott, Slick Castleman, Jo Moore, Jack Salveson, Phil Weintraub, Blondy Ryan, Hi Bell, Johnny Vergez, Freddie Fitzsimmons, Gus Mancuso, Joe Bowman, "Lefty" O'Doul, Hank Leiber, Al Smith, Harry Danning, Adolfo Luque, Hughie Critz, Travis Jackson, Carl Hubbell, Roy Parmalee, Watty Clark and one other, which might be George Watkins. Hubbell recorded his fantastic strike out feat at the 1934 All-Star game that year, fanning Hall of Famers Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons and Joe Cronin in succession. This lot comes with full LOA from PSA/DNA, cert number T05560. This creamy-toned ball has a minor chip between the Jackson and Hubbell signatures, but does not significantly affect either HOF signature.
