Willie McCovey clubbed 521 home runs during his Hall of Fame career, and his 1977 season (at age 37) was his last big season of his long and storied career. This 35-1/2", 32.9 ounce Louisville Slugger "M110 L" model bat, has "Willie McCovey" burned in to the barrel in block lettering. The brand, burned very boldly into the bat, indicates this bat was from the 1977 labeling period. This moderately-toned stick exhibits great game use including a nice crack in the handle along with a small chunk of missing wood. Many ball and stitch impressions are abundantly displaced along the barrel, indicating this bat lasted quite a bit before meeting its demise. The handle has a light coating of pine tar, while the knob has McCovey's number "44" written in black marker. A blue Sharpie "Willie McCovey" appears along the barrel. Louisville Slugger factory records indicate McCovey ordered 35-1/2 inch bats on August 5, 1977. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, cert number 1B01517 for the authenticity of the bat. LOA from James Spence Authentication for authenticity for the signature.
