Opening Day Auction 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/26/2014
Offered is an original early 20th Century table-top card game, complete with 54 game cards, four page instruction pamphlet, game board and what appear to be original pin style base runners. The original box remains in very nice shape with the top displaying an image of an early batter, with marketing phrases and copyright date of September 1904. The top has two fully intact corners, a small tear near the batter and the letter and name “x Jackson” in pencil. Almost all the individual game cards are crease free, but many contains that same pencil “x” mark on the back side. The game sides of the cards feature either the same generic batter image or facts from the actual 1904 season, and all contain actual game “plays”. The 1904 season was the year the World Series was not played. Original rules paper is intact but contains usual issues near the folds. Game board has the name “Jackson” again on the reverse, obviously the original owner’s name. This game set is rarely seen and would make a nice addition to your ever growing table top game collection.
