The Yankees opened their new stadium in 2009 the same way they opened the old Yankee Stadium - with a World Series victory. Alex Rodriguez is recognized as one of the greatest players of all time. He is expected to end his career with over 700 home runs, over 2000 RBI, over 3000 hits and as of this catalog publishing has a .300 career lifetime batting average. A-Rod has won 3 MVP awards, 2 Gold Gloves, and is a 14 time All Star. Until 2009 however, baseball’s biggest prize and the one he treasured the most had eluded him: A World Series championship and the World Series ring that comes with it.
A-Rod had a typical season for him in 2009, 30 homers with 100 RBI, but in 2009 Alex Rodriguez did something he had not before, excelled in the postseason. A-Rod batted .365 with 6 home runs and 18 RBI, including his first and only World Series homer. A-Rod had finally accomplished his career goal, winning the World Series. Alex’s 2009 World Series ring is the crowning achievement of his career, and unlike Jeter and many of his Yankee teammates, A-Rod has just one World Series victory, making this ring extra special.
After winning the World Series, Alex requested the Yankees issue him an additional ring, so he could give it to a close family member who had supported him throughout his life and career. The Yankees obliged this request, understanding how significant an event finally winning a World Series was to him. An additional ‘player’s ring’ was issued to Alex (exact same ring as Alex and all other Yankees players received) and we offer that ring here. It comes with a notarized LOA from the recipient, Alex’s cousin Yuri Sucrat (a name that should be well known by most Yankees fans). It also comes with copies of his driver’s license and Dominican passport as proof that the ring originated from Alex Rodriguez.
The 2009 World Series ring is unquestionably one of the most striking and beautiful World Series Rings of all time. Ring has “Rodriguez” on one side above the Yankees logo, “WORLD CHAMPIONS 2009 UNITY” on the other side with the image of the New Yankee Stadium. Inside the ring on one side is the markings “YANKEE STADIUM INAUGURAL SEASON 2009 “ with the inaugural season logo. Marked on the other side of the ring is “Balfour © 14K”. The top features a Yankee blue stone accented by a diamond clustered NY logo rising from a diamond lined base path. The blue stone is synthetic and has a tiny crack which is nearly invisible and is also hidden by the placement on diamond clustered NY logo over it. There are four larger stones representing infield bases and home plate.
The Ring
Ring is made of 14K white gold and has 2.5 cttw of top quality diamonds. This MASSIVE ring boasts a staggering NINETY-FIVE DIAMONDS:FOUR 2.2 X 2.2mm princess cut diamonds and THIRTY-NINE 2.2mm & FIFTY-TWO 1.3-2mm round brilliant cut diamonds giving this ring a total diamond weight of approx 2.50cttw.
