Presented is a lot of nine Hall of Fame Philadelphia Warriors star Tom Gola’s Pennsylvania sports awards and plaques collection. The first item in this lot is a framed display of Tom Gola’s awards for competition in track & field sports, including the shot put and 440-yard run, with three medals from the Penn Relays and four from the Philadelphia Catholic League Championship. The seven medals and two ribbons are mounted on a gold velvet matte and displayed in a 14 x 16-inch blue-painted wood with glass frame. The second item in this lot is the “Cliveden Award to Phila’s Outstanding High School Athlete 1951 Thomas Gola – LaSalle H.S.” award, engraved on a 7¼ x 10½-inch gold metal plaque mounted on a 10 x 15-inch brown wood board. The third item in this lot is a 9 x 12-inch brown wood plaque featuring a 5 x 7-inch color team photo of the 1968-1969 LaSalle University men’s basketball team coached by Gola at the top center, and a 5 x 7-inch white paper caption printed in blue identifying the “1968-69 LaSalle Explorers 23-1 #2 Final AP Ranking Philadelphia Big 5 Hall of Fame” team mounted on the board. The fourth item in this lot is the “1950 The Philadelphia Inquirer Award to the Most Valuable Player in the City Championship Basketball Game Thomas J. Gola LaSalle High School” plaque engraved on an 8 x 9-inch gold metal shield mounted on a 10 x 12-inch brown wood shield.

The fifth item in this lot is a La Salle College Alumni Association citation for Thomas Gola, dated May 8, 1976, on 8 x 10½-inch white paper mounted in a white matte and displayed in a 11½ x 14-inch black with gold accent wood with glass frame. The sixth item in this lot is a 11 x 14-inch black and silver plastic and glass plaque with the caption “” The Living Legend” Award Tom Gola For your Lifetime Dedication and Contributions to the Sport of Basketball PA Baseball Sports Hall of Fame 10-15-99” engraved in black type. The seventh item in this lot is a 12 x 14-inch brown wood plaque with a 10 x 12-inch silver metal plaque engraved in brown with the caption “La Salle College Salutes its 1954 N.C.A.A. Championship Team Nostalgia Day at Convention Hall Saturday, February 9, 1980” with a team photo at its center. The eighth item in this lot is a 10 x 12-inch brown wood “keystone” shaped award with three bronze-colored metal plaques mounted on the front. The top 1½ x 6-inch plaque is engraved “Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame”; at the center is a 6 x 6-inch plaque engraved with a 4 x 5½-inch black & white photo of Gola in a New York Knicks uniform; and at the lower center is a 1¼ x 5¼ -inch plaque engraved “Tom Gola 1968”. The ninth item in this lot is a 9 x 12-inch black lacquered plastic award with a 7 x 10-inch black metal plaque engraved in gold with the legend “Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame 1954 LaSalle Men’s Basketball NCAA Champions Inducted April 8, 2005”.
