Shohei Ohtani pitched a 99 MPH fastball as an 18-year-old high school pitcher. Ohtani expressed interest to move to the major leagues after high school and received a good amount of interest from numerous teams such as the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers. Ohtani, however remained in Japan following High School and was the first pick of the Fighters in the 2012 draft. On March 29th, 2013, Ohtani made his debut at age 18 in the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters' season-opening game.  He played in NPB for the Fighters from 2013 through 2017 as a pitcher and an outfielder.

Presented in this lot are (10) 9.5 x 10.75-inch signed Japanese matted parchment papers, (7) which possess the Nippon Ham Fighters logo and (3) of which do not have the Fighters logo. The signatures are signed in bold black, silver and gold Sharpie and are very large displaying across the nearly the entire paper.  They appear to be early career; Pre-MLB Debut autographs and the collection was obtained from a collector from Japan. This entire lot has been pre-certified by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS).
