Included in this expansive lot are 119 baseballs signed by legends and stars of various eras. Signed baseballs in this thrilling lot include Mark McGwire (twice), Barry Bonds (three), Dick Allen, Dom DiMaggio (twice), Frank Crosetti, Johnny Vander Meer (three), Ray Dandridge, Andre Dawson, Pete Rose (six), Don Larsen (three), Dick Groat, Sammy Sosa, Manny Mota, Ron Guidry, Roger Clemens (four), Don Newcombe (twice), Keith Hernandez, Bob Boone, Moose Skowron, Al Dark, Hank Bauer (three), Willie Randolph, Wade Boggs, Rico Petrocelli, Maury Wills (three), Mel Parnell, Elroy Face, Bobby Richardson (twice), Ralph Houk (twice), Bernie Williams, and more.
Seven on the baseballs have been inscribed by former Rookies of the Year. The first ball was signed by Al Dark in black ink and inscribed “R.O.Y. ‘48”. The next ball was signed by Don Newcombe in blue ink, who inscribed “1949 R.O.Y.” and “”1956” – MVP -+- Cy Young”. There are two balls signed by Gil McDougald in blue ink with the inscriptions “1951 A.L. R.O.Y.” and “NY Yankees “1951-60”” and one with “1956 NL MVP + CY”. The next ball was signed in blue pen by Joe Black with the inscription “R.O.Y. ‘52”. Orlando Cepeda signed his name in blue pen and inscribed “1958 ROY” and “1967 MVP”. The last ball was signed by Mark Fidrych in dark blue pen, who inscribed “R.O.Y. “76” the Bird”.
Additionally, there are nine baseballs that have been inscribed by former MVP’s. There are two baseballs that Dolph Camillie signed and inscribed “1941 N.L. M.V.P.” in blue pen. Marty Marion signed his name with “Slats” between his name and inscribed “1944 N.L. M.V.P.”, all in blue pen. There are two baseballs signed and inscribed in blue pen by Dick Groat that read “1960 – N.L. MVP”. Maury Wills signed his name and inscribed in blue ben “30” and “MVP NL ‘62”. Zoilo Versalles signed his name in blue pen and inscribed “MVP 1965”. George Foster signed and inscribed his name in blue pen and inscribed “NL MVP 1977” and Dale Murphy, who’s signature is in lite black pen includes the inscription “NL MVP 82, 83”.
