Offered is a lot of two 1940s Pittsburgh Pirates multi-signed programs. The first item in this lot is an inscription and signature from Academy Award winning actor and recording star Bing Crosby on an undated, cut 7 x 9-inch brown paper, four-page program from City of Burbank (California) Municipal Stadium where the St. Louis Browns hosted the Pittsburgh Pirates in a spring training game. The crooner has inscribed and signed “To Tom Bing Crosby” in gray pencil on the front cover. Crosby was part-owner of the Pirates and had worn a Browns jacket in his Oscar winning turn as “Father O’Malley” in “Going My Way. The City of Burbank Municipal Stadium was the spring training home of the Brownies from 1949 to 1952. This item comes with a COA from Beckett Authentication (Q53449).
The second item in this lot is a multi-signed Pittsburgh Pirates Official Scorecard from a 1943 Pirates vs. Brooklyn Dodgers game at Forbes Field. There are seven signatures on the 7x10-inch front cover of the red and black on white paper. Hall of Famer Honus Wagner highlights the signatures with his autograph on the upper right corner. Other notable signatures include Pirates players Rip Sewell, Vince DiMaggio, Wally Hebert, and John Baker, along with longtime radio announcer Rosey Rowswell. This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
