Offered here are two Pete Rose Cincinnati Reds game used caps from the 1980s. The first cap was worn by Rose in 1984. Rose started the season with the Expos, but an August 16th trade sent him back to his first MLB team. Rose served as the player-manager for the Reds, hitting .365 in his 26 games with the team. This cap is a size 7 1/8, and it has Rose’s number “14” written on the underside of the brim in blue marker. Rose has signed the underside of the brim in black marker. This cap shows moderate wear and comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema, as well as a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (E99068) for the signature.
The second cap in this lot, also a red Cincinnati Reds cap, was worn by Rose in 1989. This was his final season as a manager, skippering the team for their first 125 games of the season. This cap is a size 7 1/8, and it has Rose’s number “14” written on the underside of the brim in black marker. Rose has signed the underside of the brim in blue marker. This cap, which shows moderate wear, comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A82803) and a LOA from Dave Miedema for game use.
