Offered in this lot are two game used bats by former Major Leaguer Darrell Whitmore. Whitmore broke into the Majors with the new Florida Marlins in 1993 and recorded his first career hit with this offered Worth WC118 model bat. Hill’s first career hit was a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the first inning against the Montreal Expos and pitcher Ken Hill. This bat displays outstanding use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks on the barrel and the lower handle has been taped to enhance the grip. Whitmore signed his name in silver marker on the upper barrel and inscribed “My 1st Major League Hit – June 25 1993 a Triple off Ken Hill of the Expos”. Please note that there are streaks through parts of the inscription including “My first”, but do not diminish the overall quality of the writing. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13281) for the game use and has been graded a perfect GU 10 and a LOA from Darrell Whitmore. There is also a COA from JSA (V07915).

The second bat in this lot was used by Whitmore for his first career home run. Whitmore connected off of Cincinnati Reds pitcher Tim Belcher in the third inning at Riverfront Stadium on July 15th, 1993. This Louisville Slugger R219 model bat displays outstanding use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks and blue ink transfers on the barrel and Whitemore’s number “17” is hand written in black marker on the knob. The handle has a coating of pine tar and Whitemore has signed his name in black marker on the barrel and inscribed “1st HOMERUN – July 15th 1993 off of Tim Belcher – Cinn Reds”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13280) for the game use and has been graded a perfect GU 10 and a LOA from Darrell Whitmore. There is also a COA from JSA (V07916) for the signature.
