Willie Randolph was a standout player for the New York Yankees. A member of the 1977 and 1978 World Series-winning teams, Randolph was a steady presence at second base and at the plate. Randolph finished his career with 2,210 hits. Following his playing career that ended after the 1992 season, Randolph joined the coaching ranks and re-joined the Yankees in 1994. After 11 seasons coaching with the Yankees, Randolph was named manager of the New York Mets to start the 2005 season and was in charge of the club until 2008.
These two offered New York Mets’ jerseys were worn by Randolph during his final season as manager for the club in 2008. The first jersey is a button-down white alternate Majestic Cool Base model that has “Mets” and Randolph’s “12” sewn on in blue, orange and black tackle twill. Blue piping runs around the collar and down both sides of the buttons. The Majestic size 46 tag is screen-printed on the inside front left tail and a “SET E 2008” flag is attached to the inside side seam. The back of the jersey has “RANDOLPH” and “12” sewn on in blue, orange and black tackle twill and the MLB logo patch is sewn on the back outside collar. The left sleeve has the circular Mets’ skyline logo patch and the right sleeve has the “SHEA STADIUM 1964-2008” patch. Randolph signed his name below his number on the back in black marker and inscribed “Game Used”.
The second jersey is a white with blue pinstriped jersey also made by Majestic. This button-down jersey is blue with black trim on the shoulders separate by orange piping. “Mets” and “12” are sewn on the front in blue, orange and black tackle twill. The Majestic tag is. The back of the jersey has “RANDOLPH” and “12” sewn on in blue, orange and black tackle twill. The Majestic size 46 tag is screen-printed on the inside front left tail. The Mets skyline logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve and the right sleeve has the “SHEA STADIUM 1964-2008” patch. The MLB logo patch is sewn on the back outside collar. Randolph has signed this jersey in black marker below his number on the back and inscribed “Game Used”. These game worn jerseys derive from the Willie Randolph Collection and comes with a signed LOA from Willie Randolph.
