Presented is a lot of two items from the 2015 Major League Baseball post-season, including a backdrop used for post-game press conferences and a Christian Colon-signed placard. The first item in this lot is a Christian Colon signed and inscribed player identification placard from the 2015 World Series. Colon has signed his name in black marker and inscribed “24” in the “C” of his last name, and inscribed “2015 WS Media Day!” below his signature. The navy-blue and white 13 x 24-inch placard has Colon’s name in red type at the center, below a red, white and blue MLB logo and the legend “World Series 2015” in white, silver and light blue. The Kansas City Royals “KC” logo is in royal blue and white in the lower right corner. Colon entered Game 5 of the 2015 World Series (his first appearance in the playoffs) in the top of the 12th inning as a pinch hitter. After not making a plate appearance for four weeks, the utility infielder hit a single to score Jarrod Dyson for the winning run to clinch the World Series, marking the first time in history that a player in his first at bat in a World Series delivered the Series-winning run. This item comes with a LOA from Anderson Authentics (1553).
The second item in this lot is an 85 ½ x 142-inch red cloth banner used as a backdrop for press conferences in the 2015 American League Championship Series between the Kansas City Royals and the Toronto Blue Jays. The “repeat” banner has the blue, white and silver silk-screened logos for the 2015 ALCS, FOX, FS1 and the Major League Baseball logo, along with the legend “MLB.com”.
