This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2019
Presented is a lot of signed items from New York Yankees All-Stars Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez as well as Baseball Hall of Fame reliever Mariano Rivera. The first item in this lot is a dual-signed 16 x 20-inch color poster photo of Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter and his teammate, Mariano Rivera, captured together in a post-game victory moment on the road. Both players have signed their names in blue marker across their respective images, Jeter on the left, Rivera on the right. Jeter and Rivera are half of the “Core Four” of the New York Yankees (alongside Andy Pettitte and Jorge Posada), who were key contributors to the Yankees' late-1990s dynasty that won four World Series championships in five years. They played together in the minor leagues, and they each made their Yankee major league debuts in 1995. By 2007, they were the only remaining Yankees from the franchise's dynasty of the previous decade. All four players were on the Yankees' active roster in 2009 when the team won the 2009 World Series—its fifth championship in the previous 14 years. Three members of the Core Four—Jeter, Rivera and Posada—played together for 17 consecutive years (1995–2011). This item comes with a COA from Steiner and an MLB Authenticated hologram (HZ107854).
The second item in this lot is an Alex Rodriguez signature on an Official American League Gene A. Budig baseball. The former New York Yankees third baseman has signed his name in blue ink on the sweet spot. The ball is inscribed, in gold pen, “Alex Rodriguez 3000th Hit Yankee Stadium June 19, 2015 3/13” to the left of the OAL Budig stamp. Rodriguez played 22 MLB seasons, and was with the New York Yankees from 2003-2014 and again from 2015-2016. In his career, Rodriguez amassed a .295 batting average, over 600 home runs (696), over 2,000 runs batted in (RBI), over 2,000 runs scored, over 3,000 hits, and over 300 stolen bases, the only player in MLB history to achieve all those feats. He was also a 14-time All-Star, winning three American League Most Valuable Player Awards. This ball comes with a HOLO STICKER ONLY from Steiner Sports.
