Chicago Bulls point guard Ronnie Lester wore this jersey during the 1980-81 NBA season, his rookie year in the Association. A first round pick by the Portland Trail Blazers out of the University of Iowa in 1980 NBA Draft, Lester’s rights were traded on draft night for a first round draft pick in 1981 and Kelvin Ransey. Lester played four seasons in Chicago before spending his final two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning the NBA Championship in 1985.
Lester played sparingly in 1980-81, appearing in only eight games. However, by his sophomore campaign he earned the starting role as the team’s primary ballhandler. This jersey is white, although it has since toned to an off-white color. “BULLS” is screen printed in red and black on the chest. Lester’s number “12” is screen printed in red and black on the chest and the back, where it appears below Lester’s name, which is screen printed in red. A Sand-Knit size “42” tag and a Sand-Knit Bulls tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. This jersey was recycled for use by Lester, and has evidence of a number change. This item comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
Also included are two shoes worn and signed by Lester. These white Nike high-tops feature a red Nike swoosh applied on both sides of the shoes. “LESTER” has been applied on each heel in red text. He signed the inside heel of each shoe in gold marker. This item comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema for game use, and a COA from JSA for the signature (R: S21466, L: S21467)
